Hi, let me first say that my activation went right into the spam box in yahoo, so that is a heads up.

This weekend, I went to a gun show - on a table near the entrance are a bunch of flyers and brochures for future gun shows and stuff of that nature - so I placed two stacks of Ron Paul flyers and leaflets there. My leaflets were the only candidates there:) Gun shows is one good way to spread the message - lots of 2nd amendment guys there and a good part of the people are republicans that vote in the primary. So look out for events like that, I think it's important to target the base.

That said, I don't think that leaflets are the way to go. You have to hear Dr. Paul speak - he best represents himself and you can hear that he is a non-BS artist and I am sure that will get a high conversion rate. His talks are getting better and better (thinking of the google talk). The problem is that a large part of the base are older and are not internet savvy. Combine this with the MSM problem.... and these people don't know who he is.

I know a while back someone uploaded a torrent for a DVD iso - which is a great idea.... but to get professional-looking results - you need to have lightscribe, a lot of DVDs come out unplayable, and the time it takes which could be used elsewhere. I think we could organize something more efficient with mass-produced DVDs toward Ubuntu's DVD ship-it program.... except, of course, you could charge per DVD and shipping and the volunteers pay for it and give them free or sell them on at cost. Another benefit would be a nice but low-cost paper/cardboard cover for it like what the Ubuntu DVD or AOL CD comes in.

What would it cost?

Has anything been done in this front, am I repeating an idea already bought up? I know I would be willing to order at least a hundred myself to just give them away free. It would potentially reach a lot of people that count (the base) with a much better return on money spent than quick 30 second ads.

I can't answer your question... But I certainly agree with everything you said... And I will not only match your 100 DVD's, but I will raise you another 100. So if any video/editing Gurus are out there.... I'm waiting for this product, I want to pass it out at truck stops all across the country. Great idea.

i don't know the answer, but i agree that getting non-internet people to actually hear/see Ron Paul speak is ideal.

It doesn't cost a whole lot to get dvds professionally pressed. In quantities of 1000 you can get discs with printed label for around 85 cents per disc. That's probably cheaper than trying to do it yourself, and the discs are much better quality as well.
Of course, buying in quantities like that is a bit cost prohibitive for most people, but people could pool their money together. Price does not include any kind of packaging though. I'm not sure how much a cardboard sleeve would cost, but I would assume probably at least 50 cents or so each. Paper sleeves would be much more economical, though less professional.

By the way, I do some video editing and stuff, so I wouldn't mind getting involved with something if I could be of any help.

Is it complicated/expensive to make a DVD to play in mom and pops DVD/VCR player at home... I thought there were licensing issues with "DVD"... I have no clue, but that sure would be nice.

And is there a video already oput there that pretty much sums the Ron Paul message? Or would one have to be created? Anyway, it's a worthy goal. But it must be done TODAY..
